Loss. Feeling out of place. Getting caught up in things you know aren’t good for you. Trying to figure yourself out while everything feels a bit unclear. It’s a lot of frustration, if I’m honest. And I think that’s why they sound the way they do. They’ve been release valves more than anything, just somewhere to get everything out instead of holding it in. That’s where that heavier, raw energy comes from. It wasn’t planned… it’s just where I was at. Lightlines has kind of documented that whole process without me even realising it at the time. There was so much going on behind the scene that I couldn’t talk about. I think that’s why I disappeared into writing for so long. It wasn’t about making something for people to hear… it was just the only place I could put everything I didn’t have words for. Most of those songs will never be heard. But they led me here. To Alex. To Will. To Lightlines. Everything we’ve released comes from that place. We’ve been building this quietly from the ground up, and now it finally feels like we’re ready to open it up.
