When people ask what this song is about, it’s hard to answer in short. I suppose if it was easy to talk about the song wouldn’t exist. That’s the beauty of music. Exploring difficult themes within songwriting is one of the things that inspires me the most. Wasted, in essence, is about blurred boundaries, power struggles and control, or lack thereof. It’s about having agency over your body, your mind and your life. All things I’ve struggled with taking ownership of. This song is a reclamation of that freedom.
